How Do I Use the Same Design on Different Shirt Colors?
Want to order custom T-shirts in multiple colors without recreating your design? Bolt Printing makes it easy to apply the same artwork to different shirt colors using our online shopping cart.
Whether you're ordering shirts for a business, school, fundraiser, sports team, or event, you can choose additional garment colors while keeping your original design. Follow the instructions and screenshots below to add more shirt colors to your order.
Quick Answer
To use the same custom T-shirt design on another shirt color, click Add another product in your shopping cart, select Use Same Design, and choose Different Color. Pick your new garment color, enter the sizes and quantities you need, and click Add product. Your additional shirt color will appear in your cart with the same design.
Can I Use the Same Design on Different T-Shirt Colors?
Yes! Once you've created your custom T-shirt design and added your first product to the shopping cart, you can reuse that artwork on additional colors of the same shirt style.
There's no need to upload your artwork again or recreate the design from scratch.
This feature is especially helpful for businesses, schools, and groups that want matching custom T-shirt designs on different garment colors.
Helpful Tip: Choose garment colors that work well with your existing design. For example, black lettering may look great on a white or light gray shirt but may be difficult to see on darker fabrics.

Do Different Shirt Colors Qualify for Bulk Quantity Discounts?
Bolt Printing offers grouped quantity discounts on qualifying custom T-shirt orders, but specific requirements apply when combining different garment colors.
To qualify for grouped quantity pricing, the following rules apply:
- Identical Designs: The artwork must be exactly the same on all shirts.
- Matching Ink Colors: The print colors must remain exactly the same across the different garment colors.
- Minimum Quantity: A minimum of 12 items per shirt color is required for grouped quantity discount eligibility.
- White Shirt Exception: White shirts are exempt from the grouped quantity discount.
Important: Adding different shirt colors using the same design does not automatically guarantee grouped quantity pricing. Your order must meet the applicable artwork, ink color, and minimum quantity requirements.
Can I Change the Ink Colors on Different Shirt Colors?
You may prefer different ink colors depending on the garment color. For example, white ink often stands out better on black shirts, while black ink may be more visible on light-colored garments.
However, changing the ink colors means the designs no longer meet the identical print color requirement for grouped quantity discounts.
If you have questions about color combinations or how your design will look on different garments, our team can help you review your options before placing your order.
Helpful Tip: Before ordering multiple shirt colors, make sure your design provides enough contrast on each garment color. This helps maintain a consistent appearance across your entire order.
